Sol Moglen, Founder

An avid fan of baseball, Sol Moglen himself would tell you that the Ebbets Field Wall of Remembrance Foundation all started because of the love for the game. Originally a place to remember and celebrate the Dodgers World Series victory of 1955, the field now has a very different purpose. After the World Trade Center attack on September 11th,  nothing seemed so important as expressing the respect, gratitude, and the love Brooklyn had for the courageous sons and daughters of New York who died that day. Sol began a years-long journey to make sure that everyone understood the power and magnificence of that sacrifice, and with Peter Kasten and the sculptor Jamie Lester, and a slew of friends and volunteers, that vision was realized.

The Ebbets Field Wall of Remembrance Foundation thanks the following partial list of people and organizations for the support, commitments and dedication to the memorial:

 Gary Sinise- Without Gary Sinise’s invaluable help and  phenomenal concert, most likely the wall would not be finished today. Not only  a great actor, Gary spends much of his off-camera time  taking the Lt. Dan Band on the road to entertain our troops, and raise funds to send supplies to schoolchildren in Iraq. The star of CSI: NY has been a wonderful friend.

Peter Max- has been donating time and work to many of the 9/11 families. In 2007, he donated a magnificent painting of an American flag to the Foundation to help us raise the necessary funds.
